Neoprene Rod Sleeves
RodBuilderMate Neoprene Rod Sleeves — Practical Protection, Maximum Fishing Time
As a practical and functional angler, I saw what most fishermen really need: more time on the water, less time on preparation.
Most of us don’t want to remove the reel, lure, hook, or rig after every session — we just want to fish, pack up quickly, and fish again the next day.
Years ago, I experimented with stiff rod tubes that could hold reels. They worked, but they were too heavy, too expensive, and took up too much space.
You couldn’t comfortably fit several rods on a passenger seat, and transporting them was a headache.
The solution was clear: neoprene sleeves.
- They follow the natural angle of the guides
- The tip section is thin and light, so it doesn’t pull the rod down in the car
- A dedicated reel section lets you insert the rod with the reel still attached — even with the handle on
- A simple Velcro closure means no zips, no fuss: just slide in, close, and go
With these sleeves, you can easily transport two, three, or more rods side by side in your car.
They provide just enough protection against knocks and hits — the kind of small impacts during transport that can fracture carbon fiber and later cause rod breakage.
We also designed larger neoprene sleeves for feeder and carp rods, so even with big pit reels attached, you don’t have to disassemble your setup between sessions or tournaments.
